The challenge
The Zoe Sarjoni Education Trust – known as the Zoe Trust – has been helping children access education in South Africa and further afield since 2010. Led by a small team of committed Trustees, the Trust works with a network of donors to directly sponsor children to attend school and university. Our brief was to help the charity create a new website fit for the modern day. Their previous website was largely unmanaged and didn’t showcase the latest work the Trust was doing.
The process
We began by understanding from the Trustees what kind of story-telling and communication approach they look for. As a small Trust bringing together long-term supporters, friends and family, they weren’t looking for a clinical, corporate look and feel. We came down on creating a simple, positive and ‘family-feel’, using big buttons, a happy blue and lots of pictures from the school they support. To ensure we kept their long history, we made sure to migrate across their extensive blog from the old website, giving it a cleaner look and feel.
The solution
The Zoe Trust’s new website captures the essence of the Trust’s family feel. With a clear call to action to ‘Join the Family’, positive colours and pictures, and a spaced-out, light design, the new website invites people to ‘come on in’ and join a small Trust making a big difference to the lives of children and young adults in South Africa.
