The challenge
RockPipes is a celtic rock band bringing smiles and joy to audiences all across the UK. For the past 8 years, they’ve fused rock with the sounds of the bagpipes, delighting audiences with their original takes on such classics as Y.M.C.A., Mamma Mia and Bach’s Toccata in D. But as they sought new gig opportunities and bigger festival spots, their self-made website didn’t convey the professionalism and whacky, unique identity they bring to the stage.
The process
We embarked on a journey to provide RockPipes with a stunning new website that would help them build their digital presence, reach new audiences and win new gigs. We started by exploring what digital content they already had, what kind of language they wanted to use and what kinds of user journeys were most important on their website.
The solution
All this came together in a clean, striking yet playful new website that consists of bold and memorable statements (“Pipes that shred, musicians that rock, stagecraft that betwitches”) and a simple site structure that makes it easy to spot upcoming gigs, watch their music videos, and get in touch to make a booking. We also integrated site-wide SEO, an automated newsletter sign-up connected to their mailing software and an Instagram feed to boost social media follows.
